Interesting Saturday and interesting week ahead

"February 17, 2008 -- You will have a lot of new tasks and responsibilities to deal with over the next few days, which may not be what you were hoping to hear but by the end of the week you will be one of the few who are entitled to feel they have done something worthwhile. Hard work never hurt anyone - well, not much."

Think my cosmic guidance is right on for this week. Between the Open House on Monday and Middle School Week events of the balance of the week AND the house sitting niece sitting, it will be a busy week. We will see how I hold up.

Today's plan is church, wedding shower for a co-worker, walk, office and the good news is I can sleep in my own bed tonight. Niece is going over to a friend's house for the night. They do not have school Monday or Tuesday but do have basketball so my first responsibility will be to pick up after basketball around 9-10 p.m. on Monday...not my strongest time of the day, but that way there is no rushing around on Monday trying to do work stuff and kid stuff. It all works out. Never ceases to amaze me how that works for me.

Yesterday was fun. Did a bit of work in the a.m.; met sister #4 for lunch at my parents; went to the Kingswood-Oxford vs Pomfret girls' varsity basketball game; Home Depot to pick out sister #4's kitchen sink, faucet, bathroom vanity, two light fixtures, garbage disposal - her new kitchen is shaping up; then back to work and got home around 9 p.m. I did not know until late in the day that I did not have to house sit Sunday night, so I wanted to make sure everything was in shape at work by last night for the Monday events and all mail had been processed so the counselors had all the info updated to do what they need to do on Monday and Tuesday. Monday is a loss because people start arriving at 8:30 a.m. and do not leave until 3 p.m...

What is keeping me going is that Friday is Wine & Cheese night for staff and faculty and it is being hosted at "the deck house" where one of the science teachers lives with his family. It is a very modern house on the ridge (next to the Observatory) and the view is incredible and he is a very fun guy so it will be a great break after the week that is ahead. Just like the time between when I found out I was pregnant and when my son left for college - no wine for me until I am off duty with my niece. Hate missing that aspect of the shower today, but that is the deal in my mind.

Better get ready for church.
