Great few days away from the real world at Atlantic City - or maybe Atlantic City is closer to real world than were I live? Who knows. All I know is that Majerus and his Billikens bowed out before I even got my suitcase unpacked. Probably just as well. I decided to leave AC on Friday since his team was out of it. I did have a good two days of basketball and stay at Trump Marina. Not too many amenities but the right price and easy to get around. I would not pick it again if I ever went that way again, but it worked for this trip AND I don't know if I would be drawn to AC again.
Casinos are such a bizarre place. I really don't understand how people can put those places on "regular stop" list.
I got home back in time for my father's 88th birthday party. Didn't have to worry about that party going late into the night. I was home by 8 p.m. Off today to help sister #4 get resettled in her new kitchen. I can't wait to see it.
Got my lease for the summer cottage I am renting for a week after school gets out in June. Benefit of private schools - they release before public schools, so I am getting pre-season rates.
My goal for the rest of my days off is to take it easy, catch up on non-work stuff.
I do wonder what the reaction was to the list of questions I left for the head of school and dean of middle school before I left. I gave them the questions I WOULD have asked if we had been told about the decision about our new team of leaders BEFORE the decision was made or at least before every one except our department found out. I am also going to bring up some issues at a meeting we have on March 27.
It was great walking on the beach on Thursday morning in AC and lots of boardwalk walking. Those were big attractions for me. The relative emptiness of the area on Wed and Thurs did not lend itself to meeting and talking to people. But people watching in a casino town is always fun. One unsettling thing is all the homeless people and beggars.
Have a good weekend.
