Catching up

Got up a bit late - for me - yesterday so no writing. Tuesday was a bust and boom for me, bust as to my lunch with cohorts. I had asked the group leader if we could discuss some group "improvement" issues, but she opted for a "fun" lunch... Then on my walk I ran into a co-worker who is leaving at the end of the school year and we went out to dinner and I learned who the new Assistant Head of School is going to be - a friend of the Head's. Not exactly as what I see as a road to improvement on that level but I will make sure his feet stay in the fire - in a positive way.

Yesterday we had lunch out as a department. We are a funny group. We will see how much "fun-er" it gets when we get our two new members on July 1. I have not signed my contract yet but I feel it will feel right or wrong to do so soon.

Had a good night last night. Went to a very interesting presentation at Hartford Public Library featuring mystery writers - Chris Knopf Karen Olson and Mary-Ann Tirone Smith. Very interesting and inspiring. It was part of the Big Read program and the Maltese Falcon book. I did not like the book, but I have enjoyed the programs related to it.

Did not get to the political forum in a neighboring town last night - was going to try and do both that and the library, but walking and the library won out. I will get politically charged tomorrow night.

Looking into Skybus to go to NC in June, but it would be a relatively short trip following the time at the beach, so I will see if the cost and my energy lead me there.

Not sure what the weekend holds. May be rearranging furniture if sister #4's floors are done and all her stuff can be put back in place. I hope that happens.

Have a good Thursday.
