Finally March 10th

Didn't realize I did not write on Saturday or Sunday. Saturday was a full day at work and Sunday was a full day without work. We ended Friday by locking the office door and breaking out the champagne for a co-worker's well timed birthday and the end of packing up all our packets to get ready to go to the mailroom. After work I got a call from my friend from Texas and she and her sister were back in town and we got together with another friend at The Saybrook Fish House and had a great visit. I had thought of going to Crown and Hammer after dinner to hear another old classmate's brother sing, but I was wiped out and had to be up early in the morning on Saturday - so I headed home - and it was pouring down rain - not energizing.

Saturday we started with SSAT test giving and then right into the Middle School Play program. After that I stayed and cleaned up the mess that my desk had become during the final push to get the contracts out and to do some of the statistical reports that I had not paid attention to of late or since my co-worker who made her hasty departure had left for me to do. I got home about 9-ish which was really 10-ish with the pending time change and I got a second wind and cleaned house, caught up on balancing checking account, EDA committee work, made reservations for Altantic City - am going to Trump Marina instead of Harrah's. The price difference was just too much for my cheap self to pass up. I did not go to bed until 2 a.m.!!! I guess if finally hit me that the big push was over and now my work will change drastically.

Yesterday was church, wash clothes at the apartment, more catch up on my EDA committee work, into my parents to see sister #5 and her sister, quick stop at Hall High to see a co-worker's son's championship rec basketball game - they were winning when I left. Came out to find my car had been keyed while I was inside. I wonder who would be moved to do that? Oh well. Another reason I love having an old car. After the parents, I popped into work to see if my boss had given me any feedback on my reports I left, but nobody had darkened the doors since I left on Saturday night so I headed to Tan Wong for a dumpling/egg roll dinner and got my favorite Sunday seat - watching the big screen TV with sports on - basketball yesterday.

When I got home last night I watched a great CSPAN show with FDR's grandson who is high up on the DNC and a reporter from Miami Florida. Then a great episode of Q&A with Robert Compton about his DVD - Two Million Minutes - about the comparison of US, China, and India educational systems. I can't wait to recommend to my teacher co-workers. Two Million Minutes is the amount of time a student spends in high school.

Off to the Community Center this a.m. to drop off flyers for our EDA Forum at the Chamber of Commerce event. Can't stay for the event, but I think it will have a good crowd since my favorite politician is going to speak, Chris Murphy.

After work, two of my co-workers are going to join me at Plan B to throw down a few beers to celebrate we got through last week. I am sure the conversation will be lively.

I am going to try and not tape my wrist today. Guess my homemade taping job had people thinking I was a "cutter". I was wondering why people were not giving me sympathetic about my sprained wrist...

Have a good Monday. Two day work week this week for me!!! Thursday night they have a how to play the gambling games at the hotel, I am going to go.
