Very interesting town to be canvassing for Obama. Home of Crayola, bedroom community for NYC commuters who want a big house and yard, very historic downtown, Lafayette College make for a very mixed population bag. It was a great, long, lots of walking day. The rain stayed away and it was perfect for walking door to door for hours. I hope my being there made a difference. My canvassing partner was celebrating her 50th birthday - that was a gift to herself. The day helped lift my spirits, I hope she enjoyed her birthday.
Going from big picture to pin hole thinking - I did awake today to realize that I have fallen out of my basketball pool...UCLA and UNC in the final game is not a winning ticket. Oh well. I felt "rich" for a minute last week. But my $5 investment I am thinking is "a bit" smaller than some of the high rollers have on the tournament. I am thinking people might have been jumping off the rooftops (figuratively) in Las Vegas.
I am doing my wash as we speak. I decided that I would stay put rather than go to the parents' today. I spent many hours in the car yesterday so I am going to limit my traveling today. I do need to go to the store and I am going to swing by work and clean up all the post ASVD mess on my desk (and have brunch...). I will do some walking, but I am not worried about that after yesterday's mileage...
Going to the "Big Box" hearing in Simsbury tomorrow. A neighboring town who is facing the front end of a process our town is on the other end of contemplating. Our EDA's program is very timely. We lucked into that one.
Good news that I did not make reservations for June on Skybus. They just shut their doors and there did not seem to be a plan for reimbursing customers who had paid for future travel.
Need to gear into my Spring action phase of my annual "cycle" - winter and summer planning, spring and fall for action. I need some action.
Have a good Sunday.
