Good Wednesday and a good feel for today

Cosmic guidance and an email I sent to my boss this a.m. as we move into Reunion Weekend and our HOS' house has been turned into something that looks like it belongs on the Desperate Housewives show set...

"May 15, 2008 -- You need to make some serious changes to your lifestyle, the kind of changes that take a lot of thought and a lot of effort. There is only one way you are going to fulfill your potential and that is by chucking out everything that is holding you back."

""Dear Rob: I've been a Libra all my life, and I'm always puzzled by those who say that Librans have trouble making decisions. My experience of the Libra approach to life is that we are connoisseurs of completeness. We work hard to be considerate of other people's viewpoints. We strive to include all the applicable information in our deliberations, even if it's at odds with our personal perspective. Now it's true that urgency and speed are the cultural norms. 'If it can't happen immediately, I'm not interested in it' is an approach that has infected the majority. In that light, Librans may seem wishy-washy and hesitant. But in fact, we're actually thoughtful and judicious. Please help correct the bad stereotype about us. - Discerning Libra." Dear Discerning: You make excellent points. I will pass them on to my Libra readers because it's crucial that in the days ahead they avoid being misinterpreted in the way you described."

Morning thoughts to my boss: "As you listen to conversation this weekend with all the big wigs, I am very curious to hear if the hard surface and soft surface work outside HOS' house has any connection to "green"/"LEED certified". It was a very "inorganic" look as I walked by last night and a scene that will require lots of artificial care to keep it moving forward - watering, chemicals, etc. I would be curious to have our environmental alums analyze the look.

In my mind, at some point "suburb landscaping" looks have to come to an end based on being sensitive to available natural resources and the impact on nature and the economy of what we do to make them look like they do.

I would also like to see the landscaping/excavating bill for the work done to prepare for reunion in that corner of the campus. I wonder if Mr. Flynn has seen that yet.

Curious that this was the thought that I woke up with this a.m....and the good news will be if Mr. Schneider one ups me and everything done outside the house is completely in tune with nature and global environmental concerns and he was just playing with my mind by making it look like a "Stepford" lawn."

Even with this being my morning thoughts - yesterday was an energizing day. Got some conversion work for our data base upgrade, dealt with the fates of some of the girls on the wait list, and had a great afternoon watching my sister's lacrosse teams beat my schools team - Varsity and JV. It was fun and we discovered another 6 Degrees' connection between my family and the HOS. I am sure it made the HOS' hair stand up on the back of her neck when she found out that sister #5 is very good friends with her sister-in-law...I don't think the HOS thinks that I am "right people" or connected to her elite world on any level. I think these encounters "zing" her a bit. So I got to watch the game, hang out with my sister for a bit, take a walk, do a bit of work and headed home. All and all a good day.

Everyone is cleaning and shining everything on campus to prepare for Reunion. I hope we get a good return on our cleaning dollar (and landscaping) with alums making contributions to the school.

Not sure what is up for me this weekend but a couple of options on the table. We will see.

Just read in the NYT's that the alternate side parking regulations are off in Park Slope for at least the summer! Good news, bad news - now people can park their cars and never move them...I am hoping to head that way to go to a thing my sister's partner told me about - Monday night table reads of new plays that the public can attend. I am waiting for her to get me the details.

Have a great Thursday. I better get going.
