These are bits of what I will be going to see at 3 and 4 p.m. today at the Hartford Public Library. I have work left at the office, but I ran out of enthusiasm by the end of the day yesterday. The weather was perfect for all the Reunion Weekend events. I am debating whether to go to the Strawberries and Creme brunch on my way into West Hartford. I think I will go with listening to talking heads or reading my book instead. I am still trying to go through the Torres' book. It is good, but I have not been caught up with the "can't put it down" bug like I have with the last two books I was reading. I also have my June book club book - Paris to the Moon by Adam Gopnik.

I have also been researching summer concert series in Brooklyn for this year - I don't want to miss an Aaron Neville type event this year because I did not look. I did find a reading of a new play at BAM on June 1. I may take the morning off on June 2 and go down that Sunday and stay overnight.

Boss is gone to Disneyworld for the week. It will be interesting to see what the work week looks like - no boss, one co-worker traveling for the week, one co-worker taking a long weekend to go to Martha's Vineyard - leaves a pretty skeleton crew.

I took a chance and sent my landlord a request for lower rent and a new refrigerator. I really want to stay put, but I know I am paying over market value for the area and the old refrigerator is pretty much my entire electric bill. It is still a non-self defrosting model. I hope she will have a positive response. Moving is not my goal at this point. If the Des Moines deal comes together for those people in Brooklyn, I would definitely be interested in that - but I am thinking that is a year out.

I am coming dangerously close to having to make a trip to Target to buy "stuff" - shampoo, paper goods, etc. I don't have many consumables in my house but it doesn't take much to make for "a bill" when I buy them all at once. I was concerned about news items last night about how the midwest corn situation is not good, higher prices for beer, gas going up - very interesting scenarios developing as to what it will take to make life make sense.

Friday night I came home from work "on time" and watched my Friday line up of news - probably why I lost my enthusiasm for work on Saturday. There are such big things to do in this world. I hope I find my focus soon.
