Post Thursday and Pre Friday report

I am now officially out of hamburgers. That is the good news. Still a few hotdogs to grill, but those are a bit more portable if I need to put things in a cooler to take home tomorrow.

Wednesday visit from an old beach friend was fun. It was like walking down the beach with a rock star since "everybody knows her name" down here. The son stayed another night. I think I remember grilling Tuesday night; grilled cheese with tuna for Wed lunch and out for pizza on Wednesday night. At this point it is hard for me to identify all meals served as it such an out of body experience to see me going through all the food service work. Not part of my regular life.

Yesterday sister #5 and her daughter reappeared - with my bag and phone charger! - and an old family friend, his daughter and her baby came down from our hometown. That makes 4 generations of their family to vacation at Hawks Nest. Sister #5 delivered my son and the lady friend back to the train station Thursday for the 5:20 p.m. train. That was sad for me to see him go. Friend from college was also here for the afternoon and into the evening. I was glad I was not by myself after my son left.

I finished The Ecology of Commerce. Way too thought provoking, but another signal that I want something else for my life right now. I need to see what the author, Paul Hawken, is up to right now. I also need to write the person who gave me the book.

Today, two more college time friends are coming down. They will stay over night. I shared with them that at this point I need them to following the campgrounds thought of whatever you bring in, you carry out...the last day at the beach is always hard. And then I need to get my head around, Vacation, Part II for next week.

Need to finish my coffee drinking and get down for my swim.
