I spent the day after a completely and totally restful night in a completely and totally relaxed day. Yesterday I did go to the town pool - walking up and back - and got home in time for my Friday line up of shows and clothes washing. Not a bad way to end a good summer week. I did put a letter in the mail today to "the Dallas Penguin" so keep your fingers crossed that a connection is made and the 3 remaining Penguins can reunite before the Massachusetts Penguin gets to his 91st birthday...
I woke up today without a plan except to see my parents at some time. I finished Confucius Lives Next Door, wrote an email to my new boss about current office events, and headed off to do some errands before hitting the parents' house. I took $20 dollars to buy a bag of coffee, chips and salsa, ginger ale, tuna fish, bread, and a treat of rainbow sherbet - and I had $3 plus change when I got home. Not bad.
After the parents I was off to my brother's pool and proceeded to read cover to cover - A Whole New Mind by Daniel Pink. I completely and totally loved it! It is a discussion about "why right-brainers will rule the future". I know it is just one more book in the long series of books about how to be better at work and life, but it struck a million chords for me and it was a perfect follow up to my Confucius book! I love that when it happens.
I don't know how I am going to follow up today tomorrow except to get to church at 8 a.m., Obama interview at 10 a.m. and then back to the pool. Might feel a need for a walk, but we will see.
Good weekend.
