Good Sunday

Big money morning at church. That took up my 8 a.m. to 12 noon time slot. But good sermon for me - lifting the darkness, finding the joy that is within us all. Then, I skip ahead, but the gift I got from my secret trip yesterday was a "Comfort" Wish Sister doll that is sitting on my computer desk as I write. The message was "Something got you down? C'mon now. Don't let it! You're cared for! A lot! (And don't you forget it!)". It was a totally random deal as to who got which gift bag, so as usual "no coincidence"...and perfect. As our hostess wrote in her card - it is not the big things, it's the right things.

So backing up, I did my church and money counting, then ran over to school to have brunch, then to parents thinking I would find sister #3, but she delayed her arrival until today, then to the park and ride lot and then the party bus pulled in. 20 women in a party bus off to Mohegan Sun Casino for dinner and gambling. I used my free bet coupon and won nothing and we went to one of the buffets which is not usually my thing, but with a group that big it was entertaining. Then we got back to the bus and the hostess had a gift ready for each of us that the bus driver handed out as we got back on the bus. Great effort by the hostess to say happy holidays to her friends and her daughter's friends.

This is the last week with the girls in school. By Friday, all the girls will be gone and most of my co-workers too until January 2.

Office party on Tuesday, ROV meeting Wednesday night, School wide staff party on Thursday, area wide EDA year end meeting on Friday morning. With some big mailings to get out in between. We will see what wins out.

Keep a good thought that yesterday's reminders about lifting the darkness and finding the joy works out.
