"Home"

I am geographically back home, but not feeling half as much home as I did in NC. I will work on that beginning today. I got lots of good feedback during my vacation and have some outreach I need to be doing.

Left DC a bit earlier than planned. I always do that. I get ready to go and just go. It did not work against me except right outside of DC. The rest of the trip was traffic free and I got home about 3 p.m. I went for a short walk - 20 degree weather took a bit of my enthusiasm away from being outside too long. But it is going from 20 to 50 degrees over the next two days so I will have a bit of a boost until the snow is due back in on Friday. I missed the first snow by not being around on Saturday. Guess I better start carrying my shovel in my trunk again.

Went across the street and got a small pizza for dinner. I had thought about going to school for dinner, but I wasn't ready to face that scene yet. Had a letter to let me know that I was a day late on my application for the job in Wallingford. They were only considering the first 75 resumes and the 75th was received on 11/26 and mine arrived on 12/2 - but at least I am in the mood to keep looking - or not.

Was down in the basement doing wash last night. Took my book down there - I can't wait to finish that book. I have 3 books to read. Friends gave me The Shack and To Siberia and a note about Pilot's Wife. And our January book club book is Book Thief.

ROV's meeting on Wednesday at 5 p.m. (Registrar of Voters). I am going to set up an appt at the bank on Thursday to get myself set up for online banking, Collinsville Christmas on Friday and Northampton on Saturday. My niece at Smith College needs me to transport some of her stuff to my parents' house. She is off to Peru for her winter break and has to get stuff from Northampton to DC - so I will get it this far and she and her mother will transport it the rest of the way after Christmas. She leaves a couple of days after Christmas.

Sunday I will be counting money at church in the a.m. and then my old college roommate is having a get together in the afternoon. We are not allowed to know where it is going to be or what is going to be going on...just need to be available from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. We will see what that is about later this week.

I am going to get going. Want to get a look at my desk before all the other kids arrive at work.

Keep a good thought for my work re-entry. I am going to concentrate on smiling - no matter what! we will see how that works.
