Rain moved on, basketball-phase 1-is over and I am trying to decide how I got a kink in my back. I need to walk it off today, but at least it made me take it easy yesterday - tournament game, finished UTC book, and church at a new church, $5 foot long for dinner. Today I need to get out and about. I did not sleep well last night. Kink and a party upstairs. Perfect storm for discomfort yesterday, but not problematic.
It has been quite a long time since I have had an ache or pain...need to look at that as I move through the day.
As to Uncle Tom's Cabin!!! No wonder it is rumored that Harriet started the Civil War. Incredible account of the nature of man at that time - and this time... Her characters were wonderful and every word deserved to be read many times over. It reminds me of a plaque I have in my entry way - attributed to Mother Teresa, but I think now it was Tom.
"People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway.
If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Be good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway.
For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It never was between you and them anyway."
What a gift to be reminded of this way of thinking and acting. I see myself a bit more like Cassy than Tom...but I will work on it.
Here we go into March. I wait for Spring to "spring". Have a good week.
