Medical education - from the "spa"

"The German word Fernweh can be translated as "wanderlust." Its literal meaning is "farsickness," or "an ache for the distance." Another German word, Wandertrieb, may be rendered as "migratory instinct" or "passion to travel." I suspect urges like these may be welling up in you right now. You could use a break from your familiar pleasures and the comforts you've been taking for granted. Moreover, you would attract an unexpected healing into your life by rambling off into the unknown."

"What you think is a problem is in fact an opportunity in disguise. The moment you realize this fact your mood will lighten and new opportunities will open up for you. You will soon be smiling again."

After going through some scary days with my mother - my new answer to elder care is "a bidet in every bathroom".  It is amazing what physical and psychological damage can be done to old people due to hygiene issues.  Hate to discuss this, but once again - no magic in this world.  It is usually the simple things.  Why are bidets not as much a fixture in nursing homes and hospitals like the "comfort height" commode influx rolled over.  Once again the Europeans have a healthier approach to life than us Americans.

I was reminded this a.m. that I missed two very important wedding celebrations - one in April, one in May.  My life is not a pretty picture right now.  No bad, just a rough transition period.  I definitely have a "migratory instinct" but this family thing is eating my lunch.  Family get together on Sunday...

Have a great Wednesday!
