Day was full - in my measurement... :)

Walks, reading, news sobriety...Wish everyone in the world was listening to his latest.   Who is Sam Corcos and why has he not hit my attention before yesterday?  Very interesting.  3 hours so a bit of a commitment. 

Yesterday - walk, outreach to a friend whose mother has very little time.  A former co worker from NC reached out to let me know.  I had just reached out on Sept 20 to wish this friend a happy birthday.  Glad former co worker let me know what was happening in her life.  Also a back and forth with my friend from 4 yrs old whose birthday was yesterday.  As we

commiserating about "how did we get this old!"  I said regardless, I wanted her to know I was very grateful for her friendship and how she made it possible for me to live in my great apt since 2009 - a safe and comfortable place for this extended period of time.  And the map that I treasure that she made when we were in kindergarten about the walk from her house to my house to kindergarten.  Incredible.  

Coachella DC - facilitator had to leave early.  He is a doula and one of his clients was taking the MAID option last night.  That stuck in my mind for a bit, but we had a good conversation with those left in the room.  I did not do anything with putting my thoughts down on paper that I want to share with CCLD.  

Talked with PD buddy as his shift started.  He shared that he and his ladyfriend are no more.  Tired of fighting to make it work was his thought.  We will see what comes next.  I think this particular person has been in his life shortly before or soon after his separation/divorce from his wife.  So now will be a test of making a move with no relationship safety net...I have been alone so long that I can't visualize being part of a couple but I know there are others who have not had to visualize being alone.

Today - walk.  No DCs until Sunday when I have 2.  Need to return The Trackers.  I enjoyed it.  Started Tradition - is not an excuse.  Parents need to know that Tradition is a contemporary novel about two seniors (one female, one male) at a prestigious New England boarding school where toxic masculinity and sexism/sexual assault go hand in hand. Written by award-winning author Brendan Kiely, the book uses a dual narrative structure to…  It was tied to the Old School book category.
