"Content" day

“Let us prepare our minds as if we’d come to the very end of life. Let us postpone nothing. Let us balance life’s books each day. … The one who puts the finishing touches on their life each day is never short of time.” — Seneca  The powerful and the wise have been finding ways to remind themselves of their mortality for centuries. Their art is filled with it. Their writing muses over it. Their desks were staged with totems to remind them of the urgency of life. They would keep reminders close to their body too, wearing memento mori rings, cufflinks, even tattoos. They never wanted to forget: We can go at any moment. The Stoic finds this thought invigorating and humbling. Remembering this fact is one of the most important and critical of Stoic exercises.

I am getting a lot out of the Daily Stoic emails.  This "chip" concept is very familiar from my life living with ex husband and AA chips.  Thought I had another picture idea to add this a.m. but...should have written it down.  :)  Yesterday - finished the Krueger I picked up on Saturday.  None of my "orders" are in yet.  So I went on to a book sister #6 had left behind on her last visit.  Last Summer at the Golden Hotel  After what I have read so far...not a heavy lift but that is not a problem.

Yesterday - read, walk, PA DC, NY DC.  NY DC was very interesting.  Our small group had two people in it who are taking a Death, Dying and Bereavement class.  Young and male.  Not the typical DC attendees but great conversation.  Today Shoprite, walk, chores, CA DC, IOWA DC.  Sister #1 put the word out that she is off to Paraguay for a couple weeks in April to cover at her old post.  What a life.  She is a jet setter, I am a Shoprite shopper - different range of activity.  Started watching Lex Fridman's Sam Altman interview, but I was not hooked in as I usually get with Lex.  Sam Altman is an interesting guy but no Elon or Kimbal.  :)  Looking forward to EOLD noon talk tomorrow - Thanacare EOL Platform.  Never heard of Thanacare before.

As the Sun is about to move into the partnership area of your chart you need to accept that people you deal with on a one-to-one level won’t always be reasonable. But just because they act like idiots does not mean you must do the same!

You'll feel elevated and in control with each task completed, dear Libra, as the Cancer moon aligns with Neptune and the sun. Lean into these vibes by demonstrating your strengths around the office, gaining recognition that could lead to professional growth. A buzz fills the air once Luna enters Leo this afternoon, elevating your charisma and ability to make friends. Use this energy to secure alliances, make introductions, and nurture relations as needed. Just be mindful to know your audience when Pluto becomes agitated, lest your ego becomes injured. Love finds you once the sun enters Aries, kicking off a period of romance.

It may not be easy for you to convince someone today. No matter how profound your idea or how convincing your explanations, the other person just isn't ready to believe it yet. Don't be pushy. Maybe this person needs to sleep on it for a couple of nights, or maybe they just need to do their own research. Be patient and focus on other things in the meantime!

I do not come in contact with many people during my days, so I let them be them is pretty easy.  :)  We will see how I move through today.  Daily Stoic email just came in...“You can’t change what happened,” he told Brent, “but what happens from here is up to you.” More than just providing comfort, Brent wrote, those words were “a call to action.” It’s a reminder that for everything outside of our control, we retain—at the core of our being—an incredible power: The power to choose what we do with what happens to us. The power to decide what role an event will play in our lives. The power to write the end of our own story.  Talking about a book that is coming out today - Ghost Town Living. Never know what I am going to wake up to.  PD buddy emailed at 5 a.m. - he has a road job and was headed out for his 5:30 a.m. pre job run and then Daily Stoic.

We will see where the day takes me from here. Have a good Tuesday.

PS:  remembered the other pic.  :)  It was mattress flip and turn day yesterday.  April 1 is the "official" quarterly date, but close to travel time so I thought I would take care of it yesterday.  Always interesting to see how efficiently I do that motion.  Yesterday...glad there was not video and I will leave it at that.  :)
