Day 22 Joshua Tree

Quick stop at Pioneertown and then Joshua Tree National Park as our destinations yesterday.  Interesting contrast to the Mt Shasta area and a good stop after trying to get to two more remote sites earlier in the day that son wanted to go to but we did not have the right TURO car for that.  AND found out this a.m. that the MegaMillion winner was pulled in Cottonwood CA.  We were "there" yesterday!  Oh well.  I just hope it was one of my "people" I have seen at Dollar General, a Marine from 29 Palms and not a rich get richer Californian.  We were also in Cottonwood AZ while in Sedona.  Got two "dings" already this a.m. from NC friend and family friend wondering if I took my lotto ticket buying practice with me on the trip...no I did not.  I guess getting filthy rich was not one of the lessons I needed to learn from this adventure.  :)

Son and I are learning a lot about each other for sure...but the extra cash would have been a nice plus.  Son and I are learning about who we both are as adults.  Our lives could not be more different, but at least now I think we both have more comfort in keeping our eyes on our own way and not what the other one is up to that we might or not feel comfortable about.  Our "adjustment time" when something the other one does irks us is getting shorter and calmer.  Calm was never our nuclear family go to response.  Heard from sister #4.  She stopped by the apt on her visit with a high school friend.  She found the key I had made for her and started my car! and took in the mail my landlord had been checking for me.  Will see if she comes back for her friend's NYD party and if she stays over at my apt AND maybe pick me up at the airport.  I will reach out to PD buddy to see if he is working evenings on NYD which would have him finishing shift about the same time my plane is landing.  Today dinner reservations at a place son wants to go to.  Not sure what else.  Tomorrow Sound Bath and Pioneertown concert.  Monday nothing.  Tuesday travel back to LA to stay at hotel to make sure no travel glitch stops us from getting on the plane on Wednesday.  Don't know if sister #4 took anything with her from the "gift table" where I left stuff I want SOMEONE to take.

Did reach out to restaurant people.  Hope they will take me up on my offer to lend a hand (and get paid for work) in new restaurant.

You are in no mood to be lenient and anyone who tries to wriggle out of their responsibilities this weekend won’t get far before you cut them off. Just be careful you don’t upset people whose assistance you may need over the next few weeks.

Get out and explore the world with your favorite people, dearest Libra, as the Sagittarius moon puts you in a chatty and outgoing mood. Add a mystical touch to your interactions when Jupiter stirs this afternoon, activating the sector of your chart that governs intuition and spatiality. This energy is perfect for attending religious services, asking for signs, hitting the yoga mat, or pulling out your tarot deck. Get your affairs in order when Luna squares Saturn later today, especially if chores have piled up. Liven up your conversations by asking meaningful questions when the moon and Mercury unite this evening.

People are more alike than we think, especially on days like today that mean virtually the same thing to everyone. Some incredible changes have taken place in the world and its economic and social systems. Now is the time to think about what the next few years have in store. Do you have any ideas? Try to articulate them.

After all the near "pull the plug" attempts by me to end this trip early, looks like I am going to make it.  Again survival and endurance.  One day at a time...  What is the best thing...  Now what will I take home with me.  Keep a good thought for good thoughts.  This has been a very interesting last 5 months. Let's see where that takes me in January and the new year.
