second leg of trip down

Raining most of the way.  But not when we arrived.  Sister #1's gentleman caller was here when we got here but then left.  His 2+ hour trip back to PA took almost 4.  Bridge shut down for wind.  Played an interesting game after dinner.  Quiddler.  For someone like me - word games and crosswords...I was in heaven.  

Other than that.  Had some awakenings about all I am not in the loop with for what is happening in lives of siblings...But I set that table and continue to be at that table.

Sisters were talking about trip into downtown DC, but there is a protest scheduled.  Listening to the news from sister who has been a part of the DC work world for 50 years...it has potential to be a new world for those who had or would have followed her lead.  I am very interested if the Feb 28 protest will "take".  I hope it does.  People's Union is planning a 24-hour economic blackout all day on February 28, beginning at 12 a.m.  I am split brain about all that is going on with government, but I do want to see if people take back some of the power that they feel they have lost based on DOGE work.  I am not against all of it, but would like to see if people are interested enough to pay attention and not do any commerce on any level on Feb 28.  Also the new name of today's holiday?  No King Day rather than President's Day.  It is also a factor that career politicians can not live by old measures and routines - in my mind.  Will look with interest on Feb 28.  Easy for me I don't do any commerce on a regular basis but I will see if stores and restaurants are empty and there is some dent in online commerce that day.
