Walked. Did blog work and connected with a doctor from Australia speaking on The Ethical Frontier podcast. 200+ people were on the ZOOM for Last Journey. Again another privilege loop, but I was surprised at the number of people who tuned in to watch the documentary. Back and forth with town hall - EDA will be on Tuesday Sept 9. BAA will be hearing car tax appeals on Sept 24. TX friend will be in town Oct 1-6. Lots of input yesterday.
Today nothing on my paper calendar. Saturday - Cemetery Scavenger Hunt and - depending on the weather, a Meet the Candidates event. Pretty sure the W&T book club will be cancelled due to the threat of rain storms. Sunday breakfast with school classmate and her husband set for 10 a.m. at Little Oak Cafe...not sure what I will feel like eating at that time of day, but we will see. :)
Overnight rain for the first rain in quite a long time. Will not interfere with walk by the time I head out.
Summary of Wednesday's EOLD discussion that I sent to family friend yesterday. Sometimes I just let my mind go where it wants to go. :)
From yesterday - Herbs and Earth Practices for Grief
Heart tonics - Rose, Hawthorne Berries, Cacao
Nervines - Ashwagandha, Camomile, Milky oats
Nutritive - Nettle, or stinging nettle
Also why don't us humans pay more attention/give reverence to Seasons, Equinoxes, Solstices, cross-quarter days... :) Instead of our man made holidays. We deplete the power the universe gives us...
Cross quarter days
In astronomy, cross-quarter days are the astronomical midpoints between the two solstices and two equinoxes, occurring around February 2nd (Imbolc/Groundhog Day), May 1st (Beltane/May Day), August 1st (Lammas), and November 7th (Samhain/Halloween). These four days mark the division of the year into eight parts, and they were significant for ancient cultures, particularly the Celts, who used them to mark the beginning of seasons rather than the middle.
All amazing to me.
If you want to withdraw from the hustle and bustle of life today then go right ahead, but don’t be surprised if others disturb your tranquility every few minutes. This could be one of those days when loud and obnoxious people are hard to avoid.
Avoid judging others and focus on building yourself up instead, darling Libra, as the Aquarius moon and Venus face off. These vibes emphasize the importance of acceptance and community, and how looking down on peers can negatively impact one's own self-esteem. Luckily, there will be plenty of love and camaraderie to draw from as the hours pass, and much can be gained when you and your friends seek to rev each other up. You'll take the spotlight midafternoon once Luna visits Mars, motivating you to share passions and talents openly, gaining admiration from the people around you.
Try then try again today, Libra. It can feel terrible to fail at something. Sometimes you just want to hide rather than face the possibility of humiliation. If success is important to you, you need to overcome your embarrassment and fear. Most people have to try more than once, especially when striving for important goals. Don't give up. Your goals are worthy of the effort.
As always, will see where the day takes me. Have a good Friday.
