Johnson, Parsons and parking

The passing of Benny Parsons is huge for NASCAR. I am sure the coverage of the Daytona Race in February will have lots of retrospects of his life.
As to my last night, I went to a SPHERE event at my school and heard Jeffrey Johnson. Incredible speaker and a very effective speaker. I couldn't find a picture to download, but now I see I was spelling his first name incorrectly. He is a stunning man!
"Jeffrey Johnson, the voice for a new generation of leadership, is the new face of BET as Big Tigger's conscious cousin on Rap City. A social activist, AME minister, public speaker and leadership trainer, Jeff can be seen every Wednesday on Rap City engaging viewers on issues from violence to voting.
A powerful and fiery orator, Jeff is also host of BET's quarterly "The Jeff Johnson Chronicles." He's currently working to increase the nation’s young voter turn out as the National Director for America Votes Young Voter Project. Author and Professor Dr. Michael Eric Dyson states Jeff “is imaginative in his commitment and devotion to extending into the hip-hop generation the marvelous and matchless genius of our forefathers”."
As to my elaborate plan to pamper myself at the hotel tonight...Nikki at the Sheraton had NO special for me! I guess my theory of someone in a room a lower rate than no one in the room at "no" rate fell on deaf ears. Oh well. I think I am going to settle for just paying extra at the covered parking. We are supposed to have our first snow this weekend so I think it will be worth the extra and I will save my hotel money for my North Carolina trip in February.
My heat went on last night on its own, so that means it hit 55 degrees - and I think I hear it going on as we speak... I slept like a baby so it did not bother me. We will see how my car responds this a.m.
I will try to write tonight, but I am not taking my laptop with me on the trip, so it might be next week before I am back on the computer. We will see. Stay warm.
