Quiet Sunday

This picture has lots more snow than we have around here - NONE on the ground on Jan 29...but I did have a childhood flashback when I was on my walk yesterday. There is a little side pond by the river near the bridge and there have been kids out playing hockey the last two days on my walks. "Back in the day" people were always skating on the river, the "mud hole" our summer swimming hole, Mills Pond and later, some fathers organized flooding the little league field. I keep thinking that I never took advantage of the boating opportunities on the river this summer and now I am not reaching for my skates (which I do not have) during the winter. I think I have to change my ways if I stay in the area long - along the "When In Rome" line of thinking.
Yesterday, I did not go outside until 3 p.m.! I was reading, watching TV, writing, relaxing - but then I headed out on foot to Ocean State Job Lots for my cheap coffee buying and took the long way home and got home around 5 to watch Tiger win another golf tournament. Earlier in the day I could not stop watching Wisconsin-Iowa basketball. I kept thinking Iowa would come back. I do have a very good feeling about this year's March Madness! Looks like lots of good basketball out there. Feel a much stronger field for basketball than the presidential race - 2008...seems like the party decisions will be all but over after the first primary and there will be WAY too much time for the candidates to disappoint the voters before the election. Forget campaign reform as to money - I think there should be campaign limits as to time!
Have a recital on my calendar to go watch tonight at U of H, we will see how I feel tonight.
Did some writing yesterday about new business ventures by a friend and my son. They both seem to have the talent and inspiration to make it work.
No boss today. Boss and two co-workers at a conference in PA. Should be a productive day.
Have a good start of the week.
