Anxious to get to work!

Had a phone call at the end of the day yesterday that has my juices going. I was contacted by an ex-student of a past teacher who passed away. Sounds like things were not all sweetness and light when this past teacher and her sister were here and I am in pursuit of mending a fence or two - with the sister and the ex-student.

Also trying to get to know our new employee - always gets me curious when the "entry level" person drives in to the parking lot in a 2006 Mercedes sedan...how hungry could she be??? We will see. Class of 1998 alum - close to my son's age and it is always interesting to me to see how that generation approaches the work front.

I have a tendency "to leave" before I leave for vacation. I am trying to stay focused. I am thankful for that call yesterday. That will keep me on the job mentally for a longer period of time this week.

Chilly walk last night, but I am amazed how my body has adjusted from my wimp status when it came to cold when I was living South and now when I am out and about in the cold and dark for my after work walk. Amazing what my red parka, "magic scarf", and double mittens will do.

Talked to sister #3 - I will stop in Brooklyn on my way to NC this weekend. Go to a show where my son is stage managing, then get on the road to NC on Sunday. Also emailed with sister #1 who will be coming up from her Caribbean home in March...!!?? for a meeting in DC and to see the family. I volunteered to pick her up at the airport. Busy late winter - and the operative word is late!
