Super Bowl Monday

The Monday after the Super Bowl is always a hard day to get going! But I am happy that one of my pre-season picks made it to the big game and won! Sunday was a good day all around for me. Except - I missed church at my usual Saturday time so thought I would go on Sunday but I forgot that the masses were not 8 and 10 rather that 8 and 11 like I thought. Oh well, "he" knew I was there. Then I went for a long walk knowing I would becoming one with my couch for the game and walked to the local shopping center. Looking for little gifts for people I will be staying with in NC. It was a bright sunny winter day and it was a good walk.

I got home and decided the floor needed to be brightened up a bit so I did that and then at 4 p.m., I started watching. I missed the first 4 hours of pre-game, but saw enough. I cried at the Walter Payton/Gayle Sayer/Brian Piccolo story, the story about Hines Ward, and the interview with Archie Manning as he spoke about text messaging his son before the game because he thought he would be too emotional if he called him - and of course Tony and Lovie. It was a great pre-game. I was pretty sick of all the Toyota truck and Big Daddy commercials but did enjoy the Chevrolet - "I am not jet setter, I am a Chevro "let" er or something like that using Dale Jr did not hurt and of course the Dwayne Wade and Charles Barkley commercial is always a favorite! I was also glad it rained because sometimes the Super Bowl does not seem like a real game, but with the weather it really did. But the Prince deal was a rain-out on many levels.

Think it will be a busy week as I prepare to be gone next week and the wine and cheese party on Friday. I practiced on making some brownies last night to see if I can pull that off for one of my contributions and then I bought my avocado/mozzarella/tomato and balsamic vinegar as my other dish.

Here we go. Have a good week.
