No Water Tuesday

Water service is going to be shut off on campus today from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Should be interesting. I will plan on taking an extended lunch hour and come home, but my mission this a.m. is to fill up some buckets with water in case someone has a lapse of memory and the commodes need flushing. My Peace Corps training comes in handy again. Too bad the water wasn't turned off yesterday - out of a staff of 6, 3 were out, 2 sick, 1 vacation. Should be an interesting day. There will be a port-o-let behind the main campus building for our use...but remember I am on the "non-main" side of the campus. I will get my exercise today.

I did not hear from the other school yesterday. I will do a "just wanted to confirm that you received my information" email and then I will let it go and take nature's course. If it is where I am supposed to be this year, I will get there.

Two dinners this week. Neighbor on Thursday, one of my co-workers on Friday. Wednesday night there is a movie at Hartford Public Library. Didn't get to the last one because my company showed up, but maybe this week. Last night I fell asleep at 7:30 p.m...not sure what that is about after a very relaxing weekend. Next week we start school events - "Community Picnic" on Tuesday, "Sphere" event on Thursday. It will be invigorating to have more people back on campus.

I need some of that "invigoration" as September starts up - my town committee work will begin; I picked up our September book club book "I am David"; family birthday's start up; events at school crank up - need to shift out of summer gear. I also got confirmation that my alma mater got my money for the Boston trip at the end of September. I am looking forward to that trip.

Also need to get more focused on elections - town for this year and national for next. I was very happy to see that Chris Murphy was married this past weekend. I met his now wife on the campaign trail last year. He is such a good person and they are a great couple from what I saw and heard. Good way to use his August break from DC.

I am going to contact MORE Magazine to see if they want to have me share my 50+ life transformation with them and hope to get at least a makeover for me and my son out of it???? We will see.
