Tan Wong, new job, it's Friday

Yesterday was an interesting day and today's cosmic guidance leads me to believe today could be just as interesting. The day started with a good walk running into the new Head of School and her husband as they drove to campus (a 5 minute walk from their temporary housing situation...) and the head's husband said he might join us for our walks so he could find out what is really happening on campus. His head would be spinning like the Exorcist girl by the end of the walk.

My first meeting of the day was with a happy, joyous and free presentation by my current boss about the fact that she had been approached by the Interim Dean of Enrollment to ask if she could talk to me about their "AA" (Admin Asst) job. Her talk was all about me being able to do what I want to do - more interaction with the students and campus life. That made me very nervous that she was so happy...maybe the Admissions department did for me what my ex-husband's girlfriend did for me - get her out of a situation she knew needed to end but could not do herself. In the past, she had told me that she eliminated the position of her assistant at her last job so she could use the money for other department needs and maybe this development will allow her to do the same. As you read below, she definitely makes me "disincline"... I will be talking to the Admissions Dept today. We will see. I also emailed the other school I had approached to see if they had any interest so I could have everything on the table as I make a decision this weekend.

"Only the hand that erases can write the true thing," wrote German mystic Meister Eckhart (1260–1328). I suggest you make that your guiding thought in the coming days, Libra. The most important work you have ahead of you will involve dissolution, demolition, and deletion. I'll even go so far as to say that you're more likely to win big if you're vigorously committed to losing big. "Give it up!" should be your battle cry.

"August 24, 2007 -- There seems to be a fair amount of tension in your life at the moment but that need not be such a bad thing. If it keeps you on your toes it could actually be quite positive, not least because it disinclines you to believe what you are told by people whose motives the planets warn may be less than pure."

With that morning conversation in my head, the rest of the day was interesting. It was also strange because we had had a long standing meeting between Admissions and Development departments scheduled, so there I sat - with just me and the bosses (or my current boss' lap dog employee probably knew) knowing what was going on. I did not know if I should treat it as an interview or a informational meeting about what I do now. The rest of my current department was probably wondering why I was so quiet and the new members of the other department was probably wondering who the deaf mute was...oh well. We will see how my meeting with my potential boss goes today.

After work I had a great swim. Nobody else in the entire town pool! A bit chilly for most, but once you get in the water and going the chill goes away. Then home to get ready to go to Tan Wong with my neighbor next door (my since 4 yr old friend). We are on this every other Thursday deal. She broke up with her long standing boyfriend and I am a seat filler in her social life for awhile and that is fine with me. She also offered up her beach house for a visit tomorrow which I may take her up on. Tan Wong was GREAT! I am very excited to have a dumpling supplier without going to NYC.

Speaking of NYC, had a cryptic call from my son yesterday. Looks like something did not work at the airport yesterday when he was heading to Las Vegas to meet up with his father's family reunion group. He did not go into detail, but of course my first response was "what can I do to make it work". The older he gets and the more ambitious his plans - the less I can really do. It tears my heart out, but I am getting better about not "stewing". He knows I am here but I also know that his life will be what he makes it - and he does a very good job without my intervention. Support will always there, detail work - up to him.

Well, better get ready for the day. Dinner tonight at Max's Oyster Bar with a co-worker.

Finally, have a good weekend!
