Monday

Yesterday was a different day. Lots of chatting in the office - amazing how the energy level dips when the girls are not around but they will be back today. Also, the boss is not feeling up to par - nagging neck and back pain. I suggested massage or acupuncture, but she went the Vicodin/MRI route. But it did motivate me to see what the options are for opting out of the school health plan and putting that money into a massage/acupuncture fund for myself as that is what I feel will keep people on the right track. If for some reason I ever had anything major, I would not get any treatment so it seems a waste to paying in when I never get a pay out. We will see.

Last night I watched NewsHour to see the Kennedy/Obama scene and then watched C-SPAN lead up to the State of the Union. Then I went in to the bedroom to turn on the radio to listen to the speech (since I cannot watch George W when he is speaking - it loses what little credibility his words have when watching how uncomfortably he delivers the words). But our local station was doing a delayed broadcast to accommodate the end of the UCONN-Louisville game and what a finish it was! I enjoyed that much more than I would have the speech and I must have fallen asleep during the post game wrap up because I do not remember hearing one word of the speech.

Tomorrow I think I will be watching a movie at school rather than going to the town meeting. 2% Solution about global warming. It is a national simulcast with an option to weigh in via your cellphone. 8 p.m. on Wednesday night in case they have a venue around you. Thursday night is the school play, Friday is the office "bachelorette" party for a co-worker, Saturday a.m. I have an 8 a.m. appt at the Red Cross so I will take it easy at the party. Saturday night I have an invite to a party - we will see where my energy level is by Saturday afternoon.

Black History Month is always a favorite of mine. I am getting lots of listserv notices of events in Chapel Hill. I have definitely not found an outlet for intellectual challenges as I did there. That will be a big part of planning my next move.

Sounds like sister #1 is looking at new placement too. But hers seems a bit more imminent than mine. Another country is calling her, but I don't know which one. People are flocking to St Lucia this month to make sure they do not miss the opportunity!

Have a good Tuesday.
