Harmony in Hartford

Another lazy day yesterday. I watched my Sunday morning talking head shows for the first time in quite awhile. I am going to stick to my Friday night NewsHour plus lineup from here on out to give me the information I need. I was interested with the Kennedy family/Obama talking. I am sure Bill is "miffed" this weekend. We will see how it all plays out on Super Duper Tuesday.

I did get motivated a bit in the afternoon and went in to the "Harmony In Hartford" program at the Hartford Public Library. They have been having programs on Sunday during January and I was glad to see it is continuing into February. But Sundays are a bit heavily scheduled for February, but I will keep them in mind as a goal. I also am setting as a goal to go on vacation from March 12-19. These are the three ideas I gave to my travel agent to see what she recommends as my best bang for my buck.

1. Go to Atlantic City for the Atlantic 10 basketball tournament beginning March 12 - with the St Louis Billikens as the team of focus (as to hotel location)
2. Meet a friend and her husband in St Croix
3. Going to the Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas possibly with my sister #5 and her daughter.

All have a good sound to me. I will see which way she votes.

The news yesterday reminded me that it was 30 years ago this month that I began my trip home from Ecuador after my 2 years in the Peace Corps. I was in Costa Rica visiting sister #1 who was living there at the time and my parents who flew in this week, 30 years ago. I spent a month in Costa Rica before coming back to the US. 30 years... 4 feet of snow fell in Connecticut during the Blizzard of '78 - January 28, 1978.

On my way to the Harmony in Hartford yesterday, I stopped by Big Y to buy the parents some red grapes. My father had mentioned that they had them on sale when I was at their house on Saturday and that is always a "prompt" that maybe I might stop by and get some, so I did. I also stopped by the office to get a feel what might have come to my desk since I stopped by on Saturday. Nothing big, good news. I saw an ad in the paper for a program we are having Feb 6 with my number as the RSVP...I love it when then tell me ahead - not - when they do that.

We dodged a snow storm yesterday - good news. I remember living in places where - if there was going to be any "winter", Valentines Day marks the end of any cold weather threat. I have to adjust my thinking up here...

Have a great week.
