Sunday morning

Need to keep moving in order to get to church by 8 a.m. and then to my money counting assignment at the rectory. But Friday was interesting. I did go to the wine and cheese and my old department put on quite a show. But that is their forte and why - one of the "whys" - it was not a good fit for me. Part of the show was faculty members playing and singing music and it was incredible. Always nice to see non-work sides of people. But it was back to work after a short time at the party. Missed my normal fare of NewsHour, WW, and NOW. And that is not a good thing for my recharging process.

Had a call from my son after dinner on Friday. He is losing his place to live at the end of January so he is taking the opportunity to travel for a month or two. Start in Costa Rica and see what happens from there. I asked him if this meant his NYC days were over, but he said no. He needs to be back in the area by April. I have to keep telling myself that "everything that is happening today is what is supposed to be happening"...

Back to work Saturday a.m. for our Tour and Interview Day. Worked, walked, watched a bit of a great Volleyball game and then headed to a get together at a co-worker's house. Very fun and, again, a chance to see non-work side of people. Also one of the party goers has the job of testing challenges for the SURVIVOR show. Could your life be more cool than that!! And he gets to go to the locations! I left early in the evening - the guitar playing video game came out and I knew that my age was beginning to show a bit too much.

Good and bad results last night on football - Green Bay won, Jags did not. I really have not taken the time to find out about any of the other news of the day. I caught a glimpse of a report that we might have a snow morning tomorrow a.m. Another reason I will head to work after money counting today.

Tomorrow is Book Club, Tuesday is faculty meeting with Peter Cobb speaking - I can't wait, I am going to check and see if the Dem Town Cmte meeting is Jan 14 or 16 - I have gotten mixed information, Saturday is either work or a baby shower. I do need to find a time for house cleaning and wash. May be tonight but I am not going to miss my Q&A show tonight.

I put the white flag out to my boss last night as to the flow of work during this very intense month of information gathering prior to the application deadline. We will see what she suggests.

Better head to the shower.
