Wine and Cheese Friday

Our admin asst group is hosting the staff and faculty wine and cheese today. Hope we have a good turn out. Trying to think back to why I did not write in the a.m. yesterday. Wednesday night was interesting - lots of walking and a late meeting in town - Charter Revision committee's Public Hearing. 7-9:20 p.m. - the good news was it was a good walk up and back. Can't remember what my Wed work day looked like. Yesterday started with a flurry and ended with one. Visitors from France did now show up and the only person who was getting emails from them was our visit coordinator who left for her Jamaica vacation on Tuesday night...I finally heard from them last night and they obviously did not make the trip from Paris to here. The night ended by my re-doing some statistical reports to meet the boss' desires. I got a bit "curt" with her - I am not motivated by statistics comparing current year to past. If we do not have the number of bodies we need in the pipeline, it does not matter to me if we are ahead of past years. But I re-did them and skipped the Big Box meeting in Simsbury. I had enough politics this week so I can read about what the fight was. I did have a good walk with one of my co-workers from across the street - she has started walking again. It is always hard for me to figure out how people can fall in and out of the need to exercise or walk. It is like fad diets, if you hit it big for awhile then you can forget about it. What my experience says is that it has to be a lifestyle change in order for it to stick. I don't own a scale or have a full length mirror so it is not that type of information that keeps me on the streets - I just know that it is my emotional release and I am wound a bit tight...

Yesterday the temperature hit 70 - people were going nuts. It was a beautiful day. Today will not be as nice, but relatively warm. Hope the rain holds off for tonight's party. Tomorrow I have errands to do and then to a coffeehouse with a co-worker to listen to a band of teachers from school. Sunday to Fairfield for a fun run/walk with dinner at a friend's after. Her family's Sunday family dinners are legendary in my mind. I keep thinking what my life would have looked like if the family thing had worked. Oh well.

Need to send out reminders this weekend for the EDA forum, do wash, go to the bank (I know I am one of the very few in the US that still needs to go inside a bank for assistance in moving some money around.), I want to get my quartcent birthday present set up for my son, church, dinner and coffeehouse - Saturday will be busy and that is fine.

I got my car registration information yesterday - I have until June 12 to get my car in shape for an emission inspection or get a new car. I will put some thought behind that thinking this weekend. Lucky today is jeans day at work so I don't have to think about what I am going to wear today...I have enough other thinking going on.

Have a good weekend.

PS: Head of School is having a Admin Asst Tea on Wed April 23 - in the "praise the Lord" category I already took that day off as a vacation day to to go a writers' workshop at a local community college! I really need to figure out whether I am going to sign my contract or not to return in the Fall...
