Back to work Monday

Very exciting - I had received a note from Mr. Pink this a.m. when I logged on...there is a Hershey's Kiss between the K and the I.

"For the negative space in the Hershey's Kiss, here's a hint: Look between the K and the I. Cheers, Dan Pink"

Yesterday was not as moving as Saturday, but still a fun day. I did not attempt to get to the RPCV picnic at Congressman Shays - I am pretty sure it was rained out, but my energy did not draw me there rain or not.

I needed to decompress a bit after the relaxing "intensity" of Saturday so I went to church and found the following in the bulletin...another "coincidence"...I won't do the whole piece, but you will get the idea. As always, you can replace the God word as needed.

"Does everything we do with other people allow God to say to them through us, "I love you?"..."It leads pretty naturally into the praise, gratitude and respectful familiarity that are the hallmarks of the relationship between God and his friends. Cultivating love like this, we'll find that in no time at all everything we do with other people allows God to say to them through us, "I love you!"

And a second piece:

"When I was young and free and my imagination had no limits, I dreamed of changing the world. As I grew older and wiser, I discovered the world would not change so I shortened my sights somewhat and decided to change only my country. But it too seemed immovable. As I grew into my twilight years, in one last desperate attempt, I settled for changing only my family, those closest to me, but alas, they could have none of it. And now I lie on my deathbed, I suddenly realized: If I had only changed myself first, then by example I would have changed by family. From their inspiration and encouragement, I would then have been able to better my country and who knows, I may have changed the world."

But back to the balance of Sunday. I took a walk passing by the Farmers Market and the live music that livens up my town on Sundays, then I headed to my brother's pool for a quick swim because of the strong storms that moved through. But the timing work. I came home and read a bit of my new book (I think you can see the theme I am on...) The Power of You Subconscious Mind by Joseph Murphy. Watched all three of the major network Obama interviews played back to back on CSPAN and then a very interesting Q&A.

I was not woken up by storms at night as I have been the last few nights so a great night's sleep. I am anxious to see what my new downstair's neighbor will bring to the condo mix this weekend...I said good bye to my current downstair's neighbor yesterday. I asked her if there was anything I do that bothered her but she said I am the quietest neighbor possible - that was the nice way for a young person to tell an old person - BORING. But I appreciate kindness.

My R-Directed vs L-Directed will be challenged today as we start computer training as a result of our computer conversion that was scheduled to happen this weekend. I will try to keep my neighbor's approach to kindness in mind as I go through the next few days.
