led to a hurry up and wait day. I forgot my "it's all about kindness" that my neighbor downstairs had me thinking about yesterday as I dealt with our IT department. All I had asked for was for someone to give me a "visual" as to the where and when of training but didn't get it until it was already past the time I had told the staff to be ready to train! I use the words sabotage when describing the big part of our main IT person's approach. It might be a bit strong, but my perception of his approach is to always make sure there is an issue with our present computer system so that we need him around to fix it and the school does not have the energy or confidence to move forward to a new system. How many people have a CITRIX based computer system...what or who is CITRIX? All it is to me is job security for one person who I think is completely and totally expendable on any other level except he has the keys to the CITRIX kingdom. Oh well.
But the rest of the day was without issue - I spent some time with the computer training person as he moved or cleaned things up that got stuck on the "conversion conveyor belt". The good thing is we have had so many people in my position and our department that history has always been a bit shaky, but at least we have a starting point to start things anew. I just need to put somethings on paper on what to use and what to avoid as we add new information. So we have some road map for future "me's".
After work a co-worker and I went on a long walk so I passed on going to my brother's pool and went to the town pool. It was very empty so that worked too. Good night in the out of doors. I do plan on swinging by my brother's to check on the salad garden to see if there are any more tomatoes. Other than that, no plan.
Spoke with sister #5 yesterday to get the details down for moving day on Sunday and to see if I want to come up for their local theater group's performance of RENT. I think I will pass on that, but I am ready for the move. Her school will move her big pieces but we will do the balance on Sunday.
Looks like I will have a challenge for August for my mantra of "take care of your teeth and feet and the rest of your body will follow"...teeth cleaning appt on August 13 and my feet are a mess but that will make me focus on my preventative maintenance routine for both.
But taking my mind off my feet, it is a beautiful view out my window over my computer this morning - sun coming up, fog in the valleys between the hills. All the rain has made things very green and thick - the thick makes it a bit harder for me to see the river but if I look through the trees I can see the water. I am a lucky girl even with all my idiosyncrasies...
Here is to a good computer day.
