Meeting Day Monday

Was going to report on a stellar day Sunday, but the lack of restful sleep last night took a bit of the glow off the day. But other than that, a very good day. Except for watching Sunday a.m. news shows and reading my book (Confucius Lives Next Door), it got to 3 p.m. and I had not done "anything". So at that point in the day I put on my bathing suit and headed for the pool. I stopped to chat with friends who were out in their yard as I walked up and the same on the way home.

The people on the way home - wife is a few years older than I am, her #2 husband quite a bit older but a great guy. I learned something I never knew - he was the first responder when my brother had his auto accident the summer after his freshman year in college. I had never heard the story. My parents never talk about it. My brother's hand was pretty mangled, but an operation and sewing his hand inside his stomach for an extended period of time gave him a relatively positive result. But very interesting to hear this story, 30 years after the event.

Watched Jim Kramer's American Dream show...maybe that is why I did not sleep soundly...I am "a bit" off target financially at my advanced age...

But I followed that up with Q&A so that calmed me down a bit.

Not sure what to expect today - first time our whole new department will be together except for the conference call we had in June. Meeting from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. - I hope the new boss does not let our "loud talker" co-worker take control of the meeting. We will see.
