My co-worker who takes the summers off will be in the office today. That will be a nice change of pace at the office. I was alone most of the day yesterday - while the cat's away for two co-workers and one at a seminar.
Good article by one of my favorites, David Brooks, today on NYT on line this a.m. and a related article about a coop in California - living life without credit is the theme. Not a bad road to walk down. I probably live a bit too on the other side of that theme of credit and consumerism - my cheapness and my goal of reducing my carbon footprint to a toe print keep me on that road. Not a very dramatic looking life, but it has benefit on some level.
I am hoping that the storms stay away from Texas. Hurricanes are not fun.
Yesterday after work, I came home and walked to the pool - to find the pool closed - not fun, but at least I got my walk in and home in time for the NewsHour.
Sister #1 and niece #2 will be at the parents' tomorrow on their way to see sister #3 on the Cape. I will have dinner with them and then head to Wesleyan for my movie. That will work.
Hartford as a good city for singles...I think they should add to that article that maybe for young singles...
Have a good Tuesday.
