I have been on my way to work at this time other mornings this week but last night I did not go back into the office after "the home" but I also forgot to go to U of H...oh well. Got the news that they are going to spring mother on Election Day. In my life of "there are no coincidences" - I took Election Day off of work long ago because I knew I wanted to be "on the ground" and watch the day unfold and do what I could do to make sure everything works for 2008 to be different than the last two election cycles. But I will have that interrupted by transport assistance. At least "the home" will not be a part of my daily routine. Sister #3 was going to come up yesterday, then Sunday, now Saturday. We will see when she gets up here. I will be at the Town Hall to hear the results read out no matter what.
I had a great invitation last night to go to a co-worker's home in a very kid neighborhood to come over for lasagna and help her hand out candy tonight. Sounds like a good break in the action for me.
Plans for the Reunion of college friends on Nov 8 is taking on monumental proportions! I am dying to know if the "Bill" one of the girls is married to is the Bill from college who I had a crush on...good news, no boys allowed. I am the only one of the large group who is unmarried. One other divorced participant, but she is happily enjoying "the second time around". They were a good group of people and their lives reflect where that goodness takes people. Too bad I was older and I did not have enough time with them to have their goodness rub off.
And talking about my non-goodness/niceness - I did get an email and a phone call in response to my email to various staff people at the UCONN Medical Center. My father was apologized to and was not anxious when he got home, so I think greasing the wheel with the doctors and their staff helped a bit. But as I said to them in my "thank you" email last night - too bad people have to be mean to get attention.
Have a Happy Halloween! October is over and - not my usual feeling about October, but - I am glad it is over. October 2008 will have an asterisk next to it in my life log. But I am looking forward to November - I will make it to Book Club, my reappointment meeting, Reunion, and early December trip to North Carolina! I don't usually look forward to November, but "usually" is not a word I have been able to use during 2008 so the balance of the year should hold suit.
Have a good Friday.
