Wow! What a day!

I had a very energizing day yesterday. Nice long walk. Stop at a town bagel place I had never been before. Standing outside the polling place talking politics and small town life all day with a quick visit at the parents' house to see how mother was adjusting to not being "confined" for the first time since September 30. She seemed to be doing fine, but I think the adrenaline might wear off a bit today. I will check in. I did get on the wrong side of my town's Democratic Town Committee. I could not get behind their candidates for our State Senate or House of Representatives...my name was not mentioned in the "thanks" email that went out to everyone else who stood outside the polls. Oh well. I am happy with my choices and I have so much hope for what the next four years can look like. I am sad for Chris Shays because he and his wife are such good people, but it was too steep a hill for him to go up this year. He will be active in some good work I am sure.

I have to go in front of the Board of Selectmen tonight for my reappointment appointment. I will give them the option to reappoint, disband or reassign as they see fit.

A bit of a downer to go back to work today, but I hope that yesterday will re inspire me to get my focus off the work and back on what makes it fun to work there (that sounds a bit strange, but I think you get it). AND to make sure I fill my days with things that energize me. I will be pulled in to work for the Democratic Registrar of Voters as we had talked about when she consented to run. I ran into her yesterday and she reminded me of my offer to volunteer. I also want to look into my volunteer opportunities. It is all out there for me - I have a tendency to "die of self inflicted wounds".

Sister #3 is planning on going back to NYC tomorrow a.m. My brother and I will figure out a system after that reality.

But so many "realities" changed on November 4, 2008! I could not have gotten a better kick start for change. Follow through is up to me.

Have a good Wednesday.
