Election Day, Mother goes home day...

You need to accept that life - both life in general and your life in particular - is never going to be perfect. Once you can do that you will find that even days which are full of clouds have their silver lining. Life is not a destination. Life is a process.

This cosmic guidance could not be more true than today. Best laid plans of mice and men AND me...where will they lead me. I will go to vote, I will stop in and see mother, I will try and find some shoes to walk in to replace my white fake CROCS with no holes and are way too white, I will be on call if anyone needs a ride to the polls, I will stand out on Main Street near the polls with other Democrats from 12-2 and I am sure longer, be a the polls to hear the local results announced at 8 p.m. That is the end of my to do list.

Sister #3 will take care of the mother move. Father has already put in his order for dinner tonight...not a good indicator of how he is heeding the instructions from "the home", but we will see. I will leave it to sister #3 and my brother to see what the reality looks like.

I wish I had known about the NYC Rockefeller Center ice rink "performance" tonight - that would be a very exciting place to be on this election day. People skating from blue state to blue state.

After today is over, I will move on to planning for the Reunion weekend. I think I will bring a sleeping bag just in case I feel like staying over. Right now my plan is to come home, but we will see.

Then on to planning my non "the home" life. Need to start planning things to do after work AND getting more exercise. Looking forward to my December trip to NC for a few days. Thanksgiving at sister #4's with mother and father - parents will get to see the new kitchen and sister's remodeling. We will see if health supports this trip. Parents' 59th wedding anniversary on November 12. Would have been my 28th wedding anniversary on November 15. But that ended almost exactly on our 16th anniversary. Talk about "life is a process" concepts...

Here we go. The day we have all been waiting for - Dems and Republicans.
