Going through the "stops" on my day will not do it justice. I started the morning at the warehouse to spend a few minutes without a crowd with a very good friend. That got my day off to a perfect start, then on to Chapel Hill to go to another friend's Bible Study end of the year party. Absolutely life changing and of course I was sobbing by the end and then had a great lunch with my friend and her husband. Another perfect event. Then back to Fearrington to see the hostess for the party I came down here for to see if there were any last minutes things I could help with. No tasks, but she welcomed the opportunity to take a break from her cookie cooking and talk for a minute. She also gave me a book, "The Shack", to take home and read and send back to her with my thoughts. I look forward to that.
Then on to another couple's home that I helped build. The husband has just recently had major surgery and I had not seen then in quite awhile. We had a great visit. The wife is an artist and her studio and her work were inspiring. Then on to another friend to introduce myself to her 2 yr old. Her daughter is beautiful and my friend is writing so that works for me. It was a quick visit, but I did need to see her on this trip.
Last night my hostess and I went to dinner at her uncle and aunt's. Her uncle is also the architect I worked with when building houses. He has had a serious illness spell but it was wonderful to see them and we had dinner and watched the movie, "The Human Stain" - unsettling but interesting movie.
There have been conversations that have been taking my head off, so I will look forward to the road trips ahead tomorrow and Monday. Two parties today, then off to DC tomorrow, then CT on Monday. It is going to be a hard transition back, but I am very optimistic about my re-entry.
Have a good Saturday.
