Sad about the Jets

but other than that December is off to a good start. Yesterday followed my plan except I did have to make a Little Debbie's stop at Shaws. I cannot identify the exact thing that put over the L'Debbie's edge, but 3 packs of Swiss Rolls were "needed" before I could come home and call it a day.

I had a slow a.m. Lots of writing. Emailing to people in NC "lucky" enough to have them on my visit list. I am now keeping a list by my computer to make sure I don't double book myself. But I was at the office by 9:30 a.m. Had a interesting back and forth with the boss by email following a phone message she left me on Friday. But other than that the morning went well. Thought I would have time to get a walk in but the snow/sleet/rain event moved in a bit earlier in the day than earlier predicted. And the low barometric pressure - I guess that could be an "LD" trigger. After work, in to the parents for a quick visit. Then on to their town library who had a larger collection of Patchett books - I picked up her first and next to newest. I will have them for my vacation and that will be good even if I don't have time to read, I will have them ready. From the library (I did park away from the building so I had to walk some and around Blue Back), off to Big Y and Shaw's to see who had the cheapest "LD's". Both were on the direct way home so no gas spent to make the stops. Shaw's won.

After I finished all my paperwork, I watched Q&A which featured a discussion about the new Congressional Visitors Center - delayed opening and completely over budget CVC. It was discussed by my idol, Brian Lamb, and 3 reporters from Roll Call. The conclusion was we will forget about the cost overruns just like we did in the 1800's when putting the dome on was completely over budget and delayed. It is just "the way" of our Office of the Congress Architect's office. I hope Obama was watching that show last night.

Tossed and turned a bit last night. I think it is a combination of LD's and anticipation of my trip. I think I will forget Google Maps and Mapquest and go back to my "back in the day" route of Tappan Zee Bridge, Garden State, NJ Turnpike, etc. I will consult with sister #1 since she has made the trip from DC to CT and/or NYC a lot of late.

Better get going. Have a good December 1 Monday.
