Waiting for "Drying clothes Part II" to get done. Spin cycle is broken on one of the building washers and I had some very soggy clothes to get dry. But that was the only glitch in my day yesterday. Went to the office in the a.m. and got through my "to do" list right in time to get out for a quick walk before the school basketball game. Then finish up the walk after and finished up everything to get home in time for church. Then a quick clothes washing/apt cleaning and to bed. It all worked except the need for the extra dry sequence for my wash this a.m.
Niece's Friday basketball game was another nail biter. Sister #4 came up from RI for the game. I passed on going to RI on Saturday. I feel I made the right choice. I will be on the road today for the UCONN women's game.
Lots of sports news yesterday #14 (hard to say after all the years of #20...) had a crash with a fellow team driver - so not good - but he won what he needed to - let's hope the same for today. St Louis lost at RI. Sean Avery brought his bad boy self to the Hartford Wolfpack last night. Our school basketball team had a blow out - which was good so the bench could play a bit. This is my favorite time of the sports' year.
I saw Nikki Giovanni speaking on PBS on Friday night and her book of poems - Bicycles - looks incredible from what you can read online and what she read on Friday! I might have to break down and buy that one. The "theme" is: love is based on trust and balance...I wonder if that is why I have always had "issues" with that love deal. Oh well.
My son seems to be a bit more trusting and balanced. He called me on his way home to his Valentine for dinner. He is quite the guy. It is a miracle that he made it through growing up with his father and I...
Week coming up - more basketball - UCONN today, Tuesday and Friday for sure in Winsted, maybe a Monday game at Choate, Pomfret on Saturday. With Dentist cleaning appt on Thursday thrown in. Open House at work on Monday then I will need to shift gears SERIOUSLY to getting contracts prepared for students who we hope will make us their academic home for the next few years. Small concert on Sunday in town. Sister #1 is coming into town, so the weekend will be a lot of coming and going from Pomfret and parents and Collinsville.
Hope everyone had a good Valentine's Day.
