Good Saturday to help me switch gears

Chicken Mango Jalfrezie - new dish but much enjoyed as was the dinner with friends that came up as a last minute plan.

Not getting out of my pajamas until noon left me with less time than usual on Saturday to get things done but I had my walk, went to a party at a co-worker's house for about 5 minutes (did not draw me in on any level), then to church, then came out of church to find a text message "how about dinner" from a friend and her husband. Perfect. On to Bombay Olive.

Also had a call from my friend who is driving cross country and she will be here tomorrow if her schedule holds. I am doing sheets and towels wash as we speak. Apartment is done from Friday night. Book Club tomorrow night, so I am hoping she will want to do that, then we can go out to dinner. She and her husband are "homeless" since they rented their home for a year when they left for a year in Argentina last August, but their time there ended in May so her husband headed back to Peru for work and my friend is traveling cross country to visit friends and family. Nice way to spend the summer.

Based on feedback from my boss I contacted "my" union to see what the process is to petition myself out. I don't want to rock the boat for other workers who perceive some benefit from membership, but I cannot identify one benefit for me and - as an extreme example, but I think it gets the point across - it would be like a Right to Life-er working at an abortion clinic. I don't think people doubt my resolve when I use that example.

Today - counting money at church then off to meet my cousin at the beach. I really don't care about no sun just hope for no rain. Then to the grocery store for a couple of things for my guest.

It will be a busy day tomorrow. Monday is always busy but add company coming into town and with thoughts ahead for Wednesday time off to take the father to his doctor appt. One of my sisters is talking about coming up so if she comes up, I will back away. Not a problem at all if that happens. She is the sister with no supporting paperwork but sees herself as a "doctor". Also got the following from my cousin. His wife is a real doctor.

"I was just talking to Kathy about all this. She said that dying from a localized melanoma like your dad's is usually a terrible way to go. Usually much better to have it removed, even if it is coming back someplace else not long after. She also said that when there is a plan of action and you know something about the biopsy (I guess there are levels) you can call and talk to her."

Hope I am not waking up my landlord with washing clothes this early, but I was not sure what the backside of my day today was going to look like.

Have a good Sunday. Keep a good thought for me as I work through this week.
