Got a call from sister #3 last night - her power went on yesterday between 3-6 p.m. She was out and about at town library (people begin to get the value of some government services during the storm...) and at the Y. She was about to open her refrigerator when I hung up so I am sure she had an interesting night going through the "remains". Sister #4 sounded like she was handing out halloween candy when she called to say she would cover sheet chores this weekend at Wyndwood Rd. Very good news as I have lots of catch up to do at VSW when the power comes back on - not on as of when I left campus last night. Supposed to be last night or today. I don't want to get the laundry bill from sending our towels and athletic wear out for cleaning. Of course the big news is ICE at the rink. Looks like we will have to go through the whole set up again. Not good two weeks before the season starts. BUT ice skating when sister #2 has her report...can't complain. Food service and generator have kept most things on track. Between the regular work and VSW, I am in a good storm spot. And the parents' area seems to be immune from disruption... Strange world. I did like Governor Cuomo's comments. People saying that global warming and - in general - people generated havoc have nothing to do with all these "100 year" storms have to get out of their own way and let the rest of us make appropriate plans and adjustments as to how we move through our world. Sister #1 is in a good line of work right now. But speaking of sister #1...
Sister #1 and her gentleman caller will be dropping back into the real world from Panama rested and relaxed and be wondering "What all the fuss is about?"
Will be having dinner with neighbor at Francesca's tonight so I will get her beach house report.
