"Thank you for all your thoughts. Yesterday
relieved a lot of my angst. I will let go of my need to know - knowing that all
is being addressed. I appreciate all that everyone is committed to do.
In the current reality, I will fall back into my
once a week drive by on Saturday or Sunday. That is also a big relief for me to
be able to know that was and will continue to be enough.
Thank you for steering the ship. It is truly
appreciated."
"ok here is the latest...mom/dad are completely on board w/our efforts
to
get someone to live here full time...THIS WOULD IDEALLY happen
sooner
Back and forth - mine to my sister in charge; back from my sister in charge. Sounds like LOTS was accomplished yesterday. Great progress.
I had a great day yesterday - work #2; long walk; church; SWIM. Took my $20 and stopped by the town pool to sign up for the summer. Also reached out to the head of the English Dept at work #3 and have a new author to add to my rotation - Lewis Mumford. This is the quote from Cather that moved me to write to him.
"I know you are on summer vacation, but I could not believe what I was reading in my latest Cather - The Professor's House. Are you sure that Wharton and Cather are not still alive and writing about what is happening in our 2013 world? How I wish I could run into them at LaSalle Market having coffee down the street...

Recounting conversations between two college professors -
"Both, with all their might, had resisted the new commercialism, the aim to "show results" that was undermining and vulgarizing education. The State Legislature and the board of regents seemed determined to make a trade school of the university....He had lost the Deanship of the College of Science because of his uncompromising opposition to the degrading influence of politicians in university affairs. The honour went, instead, to a much younger man, head of the department of chemistry, who was willing "to give the taxpayers what they wanted.""
Love this stuff!
Have a great summer! See you in the Fall."
NOW I need to up my personal game. Lots of drama falling away. Today, work #1 next to last Sunday. Parents. Shoprite. Home.
Have a good Sunday.
