"You have been through a stressful time of late, so wind down a bit and find
ways to have fun without pushing yourself too hard physically or emotionally. Be
kind to yourself today, and every day from now on."
I am thinking today is vacation day 10, but I am having trouble keeping track of the day of the week again...before it was because I was working every day, now it is because of this "vacation". Very interesting event. I am glad that friends came up from NC. I could have very easily said - "better head home" - if they had not been coming up, not sure why but felt strange doing nothing (except attempting to relax) after the last 6 months and then mother's death.
My landlord must have gotten the booster he said he was getting for his wireless. I seem to be able to pick up a bit more signal down here than earlier in the week. Good news, bad news. My cellphone is still a door stop once I get to the cottage.
Picture above is Brewster Academy. It was on the tour on Friday - "Castle in the Clouds" (reminded me of the Hillstead Museum at home), then Wolfeboro for a lobster roll, then back to the cottage. Saturday was Arts and Crafts show in town and another lobster roll. I passed on a third LR on Sunday that my company had on their way to the airport. I guess they "got" how they have become habit forming for me.
Went to the airport yesterday to drop them off. Played cat and mouse with traffic on the way home. NASCAR race in the area yesterday so that and the regular returning from the weekend lake traffic made it feel a bit crowded on the highway, but I got home in time to find my landlord at left me her latest "O" magazine, a note about where to leave the garbage for her husband to take it to the landfill this a.m. and an invite for the $5 Monday hamburger deal at the local restaurant tonight. Not an "O" fan, but I have found "tips" in both the one she had waiting for me when I got here and the one I read last night. Then it was into the lake to unwind from the trip and a walk (just a short one to the road entrance to the highway and back.) Today my thought is to climb Mount Major. Tomorrow my landlords want to go to the Loon Center. I heard them last night for the first time (the loons, not my landlords) so I am looking forward to getting some back story to the Loon situation.
Trying to figure out what I want my life to look like when I get home. Have a friend and her daughter coming to stay with me the Tuesday after I get home, then mother's service on July 30. I am still struggling with the reality of her death. Very strange feeling. Can't wait to get back to work.
Lady next door who water skis every a.m. at 6 a.m. has been out and back by now. Hearing more people on the lake as I write. The sunrise was beautiful as always this a.m.
Have a good Monday.
