Christmas Eve 2023

Started yesterday with listening...think I finished Brett Johnson and then packed up.  Scone from landlady and a couple of texts kept me from getting in the car until 9 a.m. but as I told sister #4 I would be there at 10:30-ish, I was "delayed" to be right on schedule.  Mazda purred as soon as it hit the highway.  :)  No traffic.  

Walked down to store to pick up the lobsters for the surf and turf.  Sister #6 and her daughter got there while we were out so appetizers were all in the works when we got home.  Sister #1 called - from Philly in the a.m. and then VA later in the day.  Son called before he headed out to friends for their get together.  Sister #6 and niece left.  Sister #4 and I went for a neighborhood walk.  She has to wear compression sock during the day on her MOHS leg but all seems to be healing and she was able to get in the pool the last two days!  Big improvement in her life.  Then a Hallmark movie for holiday good measure and bed.  Now I have fed the cat and got the hotpot going for my instant coffee.  Plan is for pancakes, walk, then I will head home.  #4 will head to her friends' house this afternoon.  I will put together a cookie swap plate to give to landlady with #4's incredible cookies.  I am not one to show up with a homemade offering so that will make me happy to give.  Had to laugh as niece and #4 scrolled through their smartphones and could give a pictorial guide to Christmas Eves past.  It has pretty much been the 4 of us for post parents' deaths forward. 

 

Leftovers for dinner tonight at home...but no lobster leftovers.  :)  No listening this a.m. with #4 sleeping upstairs, but will check to see if I "missed" anything when I get home.  

By all means indulge in a gentle daydream or two but don’t take it too far and replace facts with fantasy. Rational thinking is an absolute must if you are going to reach the goals you have set yourself between now and the early part of next year.
