Christmas Eve "day" 2023

Just a bit of I-95 on my agenda today, but the road to sister #4's.  Talked to sister #6 and niece yesterday as they prepared.  Bridge being out on I-95 in Providence... their travels will be impacted.  Old infrastructure is a New England issue in many spots.  But not the problem in my day today.

Yesterday walked to the Shoppes again - two days in a row, but too much fun watching people hustle and bustle.  A check out line that wound around the store at Barnes and Noble.  PD buddies doing foot patrol so I chatted for a bit.  Family friend, now a Reverend, whose family we spent Christmas Eve with for 40+ years.  Nice chance meeting on my walk and I would never have run into him if I had not changed up my route and timing.  Love that when that happens.  He was a classmate of sister #3's.  His father was the town doctor from 1955 to the 90's.  Our families met in the aftermath of the Flood of '55. It was a funny relationship - my father did not like doctors, the doctor did not like lawyers.  :)  But they were friends for decades.  Every Thursday - the doctor's day off - they met with their wives to play bridge.  One week our house, one week their house.  So glad I ran into the son yesterday.  

Listening - WBD, All In, Pivot.  Jay Martin with Brett Johnson as we speak.  Need to get my word work done and want to get in the car by 9 a.m.  Want to wander Westerly a bit before all the shops close.  

It may be a fool’s game trying to predict how people will react but the clues are there and if they are strong enough it might benefit you to act on them over the coming week. It should help that you are such a good judge of character.

I am going to try and do some candle lighting and moment of silence before dinner today.  Make some space for the holiday and the year ahead.  We'll see if sisters and niece go along with that without laughing too hard.  :)
