Then we got home. I made a quick trip to Sr Disc Shopping at Shoprite $39/$25 spend and save so that was worth the rush. Sister had a bagel, applesauce and some gingerale then headed to take a nap while I was at Shoprite. Medical Industrial Complex, no walking, shopping at 4 in the afternoon! Yikes. I had no idea what the rest of the day was going to bring. Sisters all checked in with sister #4. Mostly to see if I had gone postal at the hospital...My condition was more tenuous in their minds than the sister getting operated on. Glad they find me entertaining. :) We did get up with family friend at her house. Sister #4 saw friend's husband for the first time in decades. Fun visit and then friend, sister and I went for ice cream at Foster's. Sister #4 had never been. Sat outside. Nice quiet way to wrap the day. I did take PD buddy's suggestion and had Graham Cracker Crunch. I will put it in my Foster's rotation. We go there after dinner when I go out with family friend and her husband.
Then back to the apt and sister #4 had access to the WNBA game on her computer. So I watched half of the game. She was still up when I went to bed at 9 p.m.!!! What a day. Did not wake up this a.m. until 5:30 a.m. Raining out. Sister #4 still sleeping. Hope she had a good night's sleep and no sign of any issue when she wakes up. She is supposed to go home today. We will see.
From Daily Stoic today. Felt appropriate. Character is fate, the Stoics said. It determines our destiny. Hero or Nero? Our personal integrity decides. Our sense of justice is our trajectory. Our moral compass is precisely that…a compass that directs us, prevents us from getting lost. Now more than ever, we’re constantly being told what to think, how to act, who to support. We need direction through that thicket of noise. And as the Stoics are always keen to remind us, that direction comes from within. “If an action or utterance is appropriate, then it’s appropriate for you,” Marcus Aurelius writes. “Don’t be put off by other people’s comments and criticism. If it’s right to say or do it, then it’s the right thing to do or say.” And conversely, he adds, if it is not right, do not do it. Do not say it. Life is pretty simple - Do good, don't do bad... :)
Son emailed saying stock market was giving him some FOMO. He did very well during the last MEME stock episode. Still had jet lag I guess when this one hit. He will figure it out.
Today for me - walk, EOLD at noon, Tomorrow massage and movie - The Last Ecstatic Days: “…courageous end-of-life chronicle, which overflows with compassion and shows us how to live mindfully while embracing curiosity about what lies beyond.” being made available by Connecticut Death Collective. Today lots depends on rain - walking with family friend and grandson is a ?, and when sister #4 heads out. Will see when washing clothes and cleaning apt get back on the docket before Saturday.
You need to get past the idea that happiness can be bought in a tin for an agreed price. A slight shift in your state of mind today will lead to a massive improvement in your outlook on life in general. Happiness comes mainly from within.
People may seem more temperamental under the Leo quarter moon this morning, dearest Libra, though you should avoid squabbles or power struggles. Go where you feel supported and understood when Jupiter stirs, and consider diffusing tension in your midst with some kind words or optimistic subject shifts. Mercury makes its debut into Taurus, intensifying your conversations throughout the coming weeks. If you've been hoping to grow closer to someone or need to breach difficult topics, use this planetary placement in the coming weeks. Seek peace and quiet midafternoon when Luna enters Virgo, accentuating your need for privacy.
Today is a good day to dream, Libra. Be aware that structured forces may try to convince you that the route you want to take isn't the most practical. You don't necessarily have to be practical in order to be successful or prosperous. Use your imagination. Let your creative spirit lead you to the next step. Find true strength in your ability to recognize and understand the needs of others.
Massive improvement!!! Fingers crossed. :) Have a good Wednesday. Keep a good thought that sister #4 feels good when she wakes up.
