At the library as I speak...and back again...

Hair on fire kind of day today!  Hope I find the world wide internet up and running when I get back to the apt.  :)  Storms caused lots of "clean up on aisle 6" tree damage in town!  Oh that Mother Nature.

Back at the library a bit later pre pool.  Still no internet on Main St.  Oh well.  What I wrote this morning offline.

----------

Writing this off line as we speak...storms knocked out my internet.  Big reason for a night of loud storms.  I will hope for a reconnect post my walk today.

Yesterday was a day.  I started by walking to GIV coffee to meet former school #1 co worker.  “See you at 8:30 a.m.”  So I was there and thought no problem getting to EOLD at noon.  When we stood up to leave, realized it was 11:17 a.m.  I had to hustle to get home by noon.  Fun talk.  He was part of the group my boss #4 at the school brought in when his role changed at school.  Creative genius.  Had not seen him for a bit.  Fun to reconnect.

Then to EOLD.  Talk was about Medicaid coverage for EOLD work.  I think the conversation brought many to the “watch out what you wish for”.  Birth Doulas are not OK’d for payment but strings attached.  Known what happened when hospice started being covered by Medicare.  Money does not always lead to supporting care and compassion…usually never.  Then it was off to the pool.  Aqua Fitness class at 7 p.m. so I had time after first pool trip to eat and clean the apt before class.  Got my chores done on Tuesday.  Class was good, but evening exercise does make my “warm down” process to get to sleep efficiently to a test.  Add the storm – thunder and lightening and having to close all the windows to keep the rain out… - not sure how much deep sleep I had.

Another wrinkle was as I was arriving at the pool for class, former school #2 texted and asked if I wanted to go see a movie at Real Art Ways (THELMA -Thelma Post is a 93-year-old grandmother who loses $10,000 to a con artist on the phone. With help from a friend and his motorized scooter, she soon embarks on a treacherous journey across Los Angeles to reclaim what was taken from her.)  Not sure how this movie made her think to ask me.  :) …I don’t ever say no to her invites so shot right back and said “OK, will buy ticket post class” and she said “I will go ahead and buy my ticket. “  THEN half way through class…I remember that the town meeting is tonight talking about tearing down the old fire station building now that the new one is built.  So, knowing that she had already gone online and bought ticket.  I did the same when I got home.   I will suffer the wrath of those who expected me to be at the meeting.  I will swing by the town hall (now that internet is out) and see if I can share my points.  I voted against the new fire station proposal but it passed.  Then I signed a petition to take a second look at keeping the old building for town storage needs thinking the money to take it down and remediate the area was already in the amount approved so why not look at it as a short term and long-term possible source of saving.  BUT thanks to our local news reporter I found out that the project is overbudget so no money in the budgeted amount to tear it down…AND the CAO is resigning AND would it set a bad precedent to rehash each town vote AFTER it has passed a town vote…feels like the town has enough fish to fry right now and is this a truly needed distraction.  AND now I have a ticket to go to a movie and will miss the meeting…and a driving force behind the rehash is my brother’s best friend from high school.  Oh well.

I go to movies about once every two years.  Once I have internet back I will take a look at what it is about.  My thought is I am going to check in at the library to see if they internet and if they do, swing by there post walk and do my word work.  I am glad I forwarded my ticket receipt to my boss.  That way she has it already so when we get there and my flip phone does not meet the need, she can pull it up.  It takes a village to keep me going.

And glad I did a schedule send for my cousin’s birthday greeting for this a.m.

So walk with family friend at 9 a.m.  Check in at library.  Swim.  Movie and dinner.  We will see if anything else derails me today.

--------------

Update:  Friend walk cancelled.  Sick grandson being dropped off.  Went for my walk.  Stopped at library to check their connectivity.  Finished my walk and found out I was still out at home.  Now at library.  Then pool.  Then home to get ready.  Due at former school #2 boss' house at 4:10 p.m.  I do appreciate her exacting manner.  I will hope that all is connected by the time I get home from movie. (Insert praying hands emoji)  I do like the private rooms at the library.  I can sit and do what I want to do in my bathing suit and cover up and no one is the wiser.  Have a good - what is left of it - Thursday.  It has been a week.  Word work at 12:16 p.m.?  Might as well be midnight in my world.  :)
