Day 20 Merry Christmas and transit day

Luckily a friend sent me a holiday pic.  We cleared out of Mt Shasta area and headed south to the where the next airport is.  Winter Storm Warning was in place and my son knew me and snow on I-5 driving would not be a good thing.  Checked into a marginal hotel and went to a marginal casino for Christmas dinner...oh well.  I do think I have seen some of the saddest sights as to people in the hinterlands of CA.  At least we are close to the airport for the trip this a.m. and it is raining steady here so I am thinking the snow is falling in the mountains.  :/  Did make reservations for NYE in LA.  Fly out NYD and did not want a 3 hour drive AND try to make the flight.  Son and I will fly to Detroit, then he will get me on my way from there.  In between 4 days in Joshua Tree.  I am still in survival/endurance mode.  Not sure what I am proving to myself, but the son just would not go with cutting the adventure short.  Lessons learned.  I think he and I will do an exercise in our respective journals about that on that night in the LA hotel.  One lesson for my writing - limited to no travel.  :)

Am going to reach out about the dishwasher job.  We will see if the young owners of the restaurant get a smile or a belly laugh out of that.  

If you are on the move today you will have a great time, but you also need to be careful because if you go too fast you could find yourself so far ahead that you have to wait for others to catch up. It’s not a race.

If this month you get a chance to finish a project that you really care about, you will be satisfied with the results. And you will be surprised to see people react positively. It's OK to be proud of yourself.
