Day 25 - NYE 2024

Pappy and Harriet's...3 hour wait on Sunday night.  2 hour on Monday when we went back. Sign outside the door does not hide the truth. The good news is that son's buddy from his Brooklyn days works there as a bartender so we had a seat at the bar and ordered our food from there.  Never have we gone on a trip when son did not randomly run into someone from another life.  Balance of the day yesterday.  Not much.  Washed clothes in prep for pulling out of the desert today and heading to LA.  Hotel by airport tonight.  Tomorrow last trip to an airport.  No word from niece so not sure if seeing her will be in the cards.  In and Out burger is son's eating destination today.  

I will attempt to put on my big girl pants today and tomorrow - today staying present for the last full day with son and then tomorrow when I land late night in CT and have to figure out a way home.  Have taxi number and UBER for people without smartphone number.  Wish me luck on the transition from airport to apt.  I told son, if I get scared, I will just stay at airport overnight and wait for light of day to make my travel decision.  :)  

Watched MNF last night for the first time in years...decades?  Lions and SF.  Was getting ready to go to bed at half time which would have been my pattern on east coast time back in the day...but son reminded me that it was only 6 p.m. pacific time, so I watched the whole game.  Will be glad to get back to my "native" time zone.  

What you notice over the next 24 hours has in fact been sitting under your nose for quite some time but you were too occupied with other things to be aware of it. Which begs the question: what other important matters might you have overlooked?

Leave the flower unpicked so others who come after you can enjoy its splendor as well. There's an airy, uplifting feeling to the day that you should enjoy.

Keep good thoughts for good travel today.  Comfortable hotel tonight and clear sailing tomorrow.  In a very ruby slippers mode as we speak.  :)  Have a good Tuesday and NYE.
