On foot day...felt good to be on one of "my routes"

Had to smile when I got an alert from my credit card company saying "did you mean to tip 50% at Pappy & Harriet's?"  I responded YES.  I wish there had been a place to say "Of course I did, it was for my son's buddy from Brooklyn."  I never know what my son is going to fill in when I handed him the credit card slip after every meal to fill in the tip.  :)

So yesterday after my "late" awakening time, I did get to NHD for pancakes but no DG.  We got talking and one of the regular classmates of sister #1 stopped over at our table on his way out and we got chatting.  Family friend was headed to her farm in upstate NY so we kept moving.  Once I got back to apt I did look for clothes that I was not sure if I had tossed or saved before I left...I fortunately found what I was really looking for and redid my clothes closet.  Did take out some stuff to take to Journey Home if I end up dropping off the microwave.  Family friend's daughter is still deciding if she wants it.  Drop off days at JH are Tuesday and Thursdays 12-2 so it is not going anywhere fast anyway.  After finding my clothes, I headed out for some winter sun.  Walked to convenience store for CT LOTTO ticket.  No winner this a.m.  :/  Then to OSJL - no desk calendar that I was looking for or metal dish drainer.  Then to library where I did find something when the Fiction new book shelf let me down, I turned around to the non-fiction and found "Love and Whiskey" by Fawn Weaver.  WHAT a find.  "The remarkable true story of Jack Daniel. His Master Distiller Nearest Green. And the improbable rise of Uncle Nearest"  AND the connection to school number alum's company who bought Jack Daniel's brand in 1956.  I love that when there is a web to be formed.  And now I have two new liquors to suggest to my NC friend - Uncle Nearest from the book - https://unclenearest.com/  and from Pioneertown - can only get it at Pappy & Harriet's and I can't find any pics online.  Oh well.  I made the excuse that I would have trouble getting it home on all the planes...but the real reason was when a guy at the bar bought a bottle when we were sitting there - $110...I do love my NC friends, but that is more than I could ever part with for liquor - or pretty much anything.  :)  And along those lines I tried to pull the trigger on new shoes at REI using some of the "rewards" this trip racked up...but couldn't do it yesterday.  Will try again today.  I really need to get out of the shoes that tromped through all that nature on the trip.

Did make me smile as I wandered town after being gone so long - ran into the town hall janitor who asked me about the water level at the reservoir and I had to tell him I had not been there for a month (usually on my route 3-4 times a week), wave from one of the old timers at the coffee shop on the corner and then Happy New Year's greetings along my route and a lady - who I did not know - at OSJL parking lot stopping and asking if I wanted a ride and she smiled saying I know you don't but wanted to ask.  :)  Then stopped at the library and found Love & Whiskey and The Confidante: The Untold Story of the Woman Who Helped Win WWII and Shape Modern America.  Then back to apt.  Left at noon-ish.  Got home at 2-ish.  Helped to get me back on sleep through the night.  8 p.m. to 5 a.m.  Still lots of traveling in my dreams.

Today Lansing DC and sister #6.  She said she will cut my hair. She says she is bringing me a new coffeemaker.  Sister #4 told her mine was very dingy...it is a coffeemaker that is used EVERY morning.  No way it is not stained. Oh well.  Will see what she brings. I will send my usual "beautician" her daughter a before and after shot of the cut.  Then maybe to "linner" at the new restaurant and see if I run into the owner to ask about my offer to work as dishwasher...

If you go on a spree this weekend you will regret it later on when you discover there isn’t enough cash left in your pocket to pay for things you really want. If you are feeling bored then find something of a creative nature to engage you.

The Pisces moon and Jupiter align this morning, dearest Libra, reminding you that all significant goals come with a certain amount of upkeep. Demonstrate to the universe that you're willing to step up to the plate when opportunity knocks, continuing to show dedication to the life you desire. Do some work within your space when the sun, moon, and Saturn align, catching up on chores or investing in home improvement projects. Don't hesitate to reach out for help from your community if you've bitten off more than you can chew as Mars rx continues a sweet connection with the lunar nodes.

It's time to get up and get moving, Libra. You have tremendous ideas and vision for the future. You have all the information you need. Now all you have to do is act. Step up to the plate and hit one over the fence. Getting out of your box and further into the world at large will do you a great deal of good. Get a greater perspective on things and enjoy time in a new environment.

Don't have to worry about me and "spree-ing".  I can't even pull the trigger for the shoes that are not costing me any real dollars...  :)  I will let sister cut my hair.  And I will get out in the winter sun.  Will see what I can conjure up for vision for future.  Keep a good thought for that.  Have a good Saturday.  What a difference a week makes.  Mojave Desert to my NE town...  At least we are going to miss the snow that will be hitting sister #1's area!
