Back to square one... :)

Got my rejection letter for my application to CCLD.  I knew it was a moonshot.  Oh well.  Glad I am reading The Life Impossible when rejected.  :)  I had a hair on fire event yesterday at EOLD.  Tax lady called and I went and signed and paid.  No refund, no payment.  I have not had many taxable event years since retirement.  Adjusted gross income 4,242.  Taxable income -0-. Good motivation for my coupon shopping. :) Walk in morning with family friend.  Walk after EOLD to exchange book #3 in the Route 59 series for #1.  Might as well read in sequence.  Still writing down quotes from TLI like crazy.  Sad not to have been chosen, but left with the challenge to be creative with next steps.  One of the quotes from this morning's read - "the willingness to be confused is a prerequisite for a good life."  "life is mess and confusion and full of awkward, shameful realities."

As to the mystery series.  Once I read the author bio clip in the back panel.  Hwy 59 series and she is from Houston...I know that stretch of highway for sure.  A rural noir suffused with the unique music, color, and nuance of East Texas, BLUEBIRD, BLUEBIRD, is an exhilarating, timely novel about the collision of race and justice in America.  And then family friend passed along: Supremely elegant and suspenseful, A Death in Cornwall is Daniel Silva at his best—a dazzling tale of murder, power, and insatiable greed that will hold readers spellbound until they turn the final page. My bedside reading table is full! 

Today - road trip to Journey Home to drop off some clothes and linens from me and a chest of drawers from family friend THEN lunch - dumplings for me - at The Parkville Market.  Will be curious as to which vendor friend picks.  Rainy day so I will see if post trip walk works.  Then Cape Cod death info session: Topic: The Final Exit Network  Presenter: Lowery Brown, Exit Guide Program Director.  They have added Europe as a "guided" option.  

As to EOLD - Legacy Story Telling.  The presenter was incredible. I liked his outline of our stories.  Stories we tell ourselves to make sense of the world. Stories we tell other people. Stories we choose to listen to. Setting up a visit with former school #2 co workers for Sunday.  The lady I replaced in one segment of my stint there and our boss. Been a long time since we have been together.  Looking forward to it.  Two very nice people.
